Over the years, she has held influential ministerial roles, including Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at both the Department for International Development (DFID) and the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC). Additionally, she has served as a spokesperson in the Lords for critical areas such as International Development, Equalities, and Business Innovation and Skills.

Baroness Verma has been instrumental in spearheading initiatives to combat global violence against women, promoting gender equity, and championing inclusive workplace cultures.
